If it’s rented/ leased I’d start by checking with the owner or property manager to see if they’ll even allow it to be painted on, all have have their own guidelines for what they will approve, and 99.9% of the time it needs to be removable.
I had the same issue with faded aluminum siding and got great results after giving it a good clean, light sanding, and using bonding primer before painting. If you’re not up for doing it yourself, painters Toronto did mine and tackled all the prep work properly so the paint stuck well and lasted. Prep really is the key—don’t skip the cleaning and sanding steps, especially if it’s chalking.
