Need help taking batteries out of toy

I would just keep working them with the screwdriver. I think you’ll get it eventually

I had a similar toy, and I had to use a really small flathead screwdriver to pop open the compartment—it was super snug. Be careful not to strip the screw. Also, if you’re replacing the batteries, I found that the lr41 battery equivalent from https://batteryequivalents.com worked just fine for mine and was easier to find at my local store.
