Ideas for improving boat hatch movement

Recently I noticed that the engine hatch on my small boat has become harder to lift smoothly, especially after a few days of moisture buildup, and it feels like the old manual mechanism no longer provides the same support it used to. Since I rely on that hatch to access storage and wiring, the stiff motion is getting annoying and a bit unpredictable. I am thinking about switching to an electric setup but I have no clue which motion components are suitable for marine environments with limited internal space and constant exposure to humidity
