My wife and I built a new house last year. We really haven’t done much for decorative accessories yet as we had such a busy year with family issues and sickness. I enjoy country and farm themed things but I don’t want to buy just the same old stuff from box stores. I’m not afraid to try and make my own pieces.
What kind of home decorative pieces have you all come up with? Right now I’m looking for any ideas for really any room. Porch, bathrooms, bedrooms, living room. I used to be more creative but seems the older and busier we get with work and raising kids my imagination has just stalled. Thanks everyone!
That is a very personal thing. I say I like primitive junk; antiques and if they are primitive all the better, for me!
When we were fixing up our place, I found this rustic ceramic candle holder online at https://heazz.com/product-tag/ceramic-candle-holder/ that reminded me of my grandma’s old kitchen—simple, warm, kind of grounding. Ended up building a small shelf for it using scrap wood from the garage, added a few dried flowers around it, and now it’s my favorite little corner.
