BIO
Hi! I'm Erin Clarke, and I am an MYC teacher on the north shore of beautiful Prince Edward Island. I completed the MYC level 1 teacher training course in the fall of 2013, Level 2 in the winter of 2016, and Level 3 in winter of 2017. In 2018, I became an MYC Certified teacher. I am excited to be teaching music in my home province of PEI. My passion for the MYC program comes from personal experience. At 3 1/2, I was enrolled in MYC and to this day I remember the joy of engagement and the fun our group had as we played and learned together. I continued piano studies through out my high school years and, by applying the skills I learned as a child in MYC, I taught myself to play the harp while still in my teens. I am currently working towards the completion of Grade 10 Royal Conservatory of Music (piano) and continue to enjoy playing harp, guitar, and singing. I whole heartedly believe my engrained love of music comes from being exposed to MYC at such a young age. MYC makes learning about music so much fun, and instills skills your child will have for a lifetime.

Rates and Prices
Tuition fees (35 lessons): $600.00 (or $17.00/lesson)
Sunrise registration + Tuition fees (10 classes): $160
MusicPups registration + Tuition fees (10 classes) $150

SCHEDULE
Classes will begin the week of Sept. 9, 2019, and will end the week of May 25, 2020. The year consists of 34 lessons - each lasting approximately one hour - a composition class in February (date TBD), and a year-end Recital, on Sunday, May 24, 2020.
There will be no classes during the week of the Christmas and March school break.
PAYMENT
The cost of lessons, for the year, is $600.00. Please choose one of the following schedules of payment:
- Ten e-transfers dated the first of each month from Sept. to June, for $60 each
- three E-transfers dated Sept.11/2018, Dec.1/2018 and Mar.1/2019, for $193 each
- one E-transfer dated Sept.15, 2017 for $600.00
- Please note I no longer accept personal cheques.
Payment is due on the first day of class. Receipts will be issued.
REFUND POLICY
Since I am making a year-long reservation in my schedule for you and your child, please accept that the lesson fees for the year are not refundable. (Exceptions will be made in cases of moving or extended illness.) New students cannot be added part way through the year because of the difficulty in catching up with the rest of the class.
ATTENDANCE
It will be important to keep pace with the class. This requires REGULAR class attendance and REGULAR practice sessions at home. If a class is missed, I will email the homework. If several classes are missed, and your child begins to fall behind, we can arrange for a private session, as my schedule permits. In keeping pace with the rest of the class, you and your child will gain the maximum benefit from this program.
Students must be accompanied by an adult. Ideally, the same parent should attend each class to provide continuity for the child but if this is not possible, another adult is welcome.
Siblings are not permitted in class. Our insurance covers only students registered for the class. Siblings can be distracting to the students, and the parent is not able to give full attention to their registered child. It is also not fair to parents who may have hired baby-sitters to look after their other children at home. In case of emergencies, there is a waiting room available, for children who do not require supervision.
STORMS/NO SCHOOL DAYS
Classes are NOT automatically cancelled for PD or storm days. We continue as usual unless you are contacted, at least two hours before the scheduled class time. You will be given the homework for the next class and lessons will resume the following week. If more than two classes are cancelled, we will discuss the scheduling of a make-up class at a time suitable for the majority to attend.
PARKING
Please park in the driveway next to the garage, and come in the "music room" entrance around the side of the house. There will be signs indicating the correct entrance.
