Hi, I'm Ms. Anne,

Thank you for visiting my web page.  It might just be the beginning of a life long journey with music for your child. I fully believe Music for Young Children is the best tour guide they could have to get started.  It combines all the right elements to create a solid music foundation with lots of fun along the way.  Parental participation in the program creates a unique opportunity for you to engage in your child's learning and spend precious time together.

I love teaching the MYC program and seeing children enthusiastic and excited to enter my studio.  Every child is unique and the program uses all learning styles to benefit their individual needs. It is my goal to make music a “happy” habit in your household everyday! And research has shown this will greatly aid in the cognitive development of your child.

Having moved to Petawawa a few years ago, and having had joy in making music with MYC students for over 23 years, I look forward to welcoming you to our MYC family.

“Music for Young Children is at the cutting edge of Early Childhood Music Programs.  I have worked with students and teachers involved with this wonderful organization and have witnessed the vibrant enthusiasm of the participants.  The curriculum is holistic and inspired.  I highly recommend this experience as the doorway into the wonderful world of music.”

Clark Bryan, Concert Pianist, Owner, Aeolian Hall Performing Arts Centre, Vice Principal, The Canadian National Conservatory of Music

"The Music For Young Children program has to be counted as the dominant force in the musical training of young children in Canada today.  Many of the new students arriving each year in my studio are graduates of MYC.  They arrive superbly prepared and well motivated for further study.  MYC teachers have found the right balance.  They successfully blend the pleasure and joy of music making with the rigour of a well-crafted pedagogical progression".

Marc Widner, Chief Examiner emeritus, RCM Examinations

"We began our music journey in 2010, with our oldest son and are finishing with our twin boys now in 2019.  9 years of music fun mixed with hard work and dedication.  We just want to thank you for all the years of quality music teaching.  You are a remarkable person, scientist turned music teacher, who deeply loves what she does.  You are a good, kind and talented individual.  Thank you for being so patient and kind to my kids.  Even though it wasn’t always easy they all proved to themselves that they could do it.  To me, music is a gift that not everyone gets.  You helped me give this gift to my boys and I will forever be grateful to you.  I will be a forever advocate of MYC and of your teaching style in particular."

Nicole Chen , parent

"When I was little, I would get anxious, and I didn’t know how to deal with it. So my mom suggested I try piano lessons in the hopes of relieving my stress. At first I didn’t want to take piano but then I discovered that I enjoyed learning to play new pieces and I felt a sense of accomplishment when I completed a piece. Most importantly my piano teacher Ms. Anne encouraged me and was very patient with me when I messed up. So now whenever I feel stressed, I go to the piano and play a tune."

Chloe Chan, MYC graduate

"I wanted to send along a thank you, for continuing to deliver such a valuable Music program to our children through MYC.  I am not literate in music-yet wanted my children to have this advantage in life.  When I learned of your approach, that involves the parent in the student journey, I knew this would be the program for me and my children.  Of special note, I would like to acknowledge and celebrate Ms Anne.  She is brilliant in the classroom, making the learning fun and letting the children own their successes- each and every one, no matter how small.  And she is disciplined.  She commands respect in a supportive way and the children are better for it".

Tammy Isa,  parent

"Thanks for a wonderful two years.  I know that my children have learned a lot in a wonderful environment with a most fabulous teacher that balanced perfectly, firmness and fun.  A lovely bi-product of spending time with Ms. Anne was learning about and participating in charitable deeds".

Martha Theodore, parent
