Hi! I'm Melisa Chui and I believe that the Music for Young Children is the best music program for young children.

I have been teaching the MYC program for over ten years and I believe it is the best program for children to start their music education. Classes are fun and engaging, combine with the structure and discipline for music learning. I am a RCM Certified Teacher - Advanced Specialist and played piano for over 20 years. I love working with children and hold an Early Children Education certificate. I am glad to share my love of music to young children in a fun and nurturing environment.

Rates and Prices
MYC Lessons Fee
There is a material and administration fee due at registration, which includes all the materials and books. $188 for Sunshine one, Sunbeams one and Moonbeams one.
Group lessons fee is $24 per hour. There will be 33 -37 lessons per year (including two recitals). It is due at the beginning of the year with 10 post-dated cheque.

MYC Group Lessons Policies
Here are a few studio reminders for the year:
General Studio: Once inside the studio, please remove your shoes. There is a waiting area in the studio if you arrive early. Older siblings capable of reading quietly may wait in the waiting area during a class. Please do not bring siblings into the class. Please be respectful to our neighbors and keep the noise down when you enter the studio.
Missed classes: If possible, notify your teacher if you will miss a class by calling (604)767-0136 or email melisamyc@gmail.com. To have the homework emailed to you email your teacher as soon as you can.
Withdrawal from classes: As it is not possible to replace students who leave the program mid-year, if you need to withdraw it is studio policy to withhold two cheques in addition to the month in which you leave.
Late arrivals: We will do our best to start and end each class on time. If you are running late please make sure that you are ready with books out before you enter the class. If you are more then a few minutes late homework will be checked at the end of class if there is time or the following week.
Classroom behaviour: We all know that occasionally kids have off days. If yours is having one, please attend to him promptly so that others are not disrupted/distressed. You may use the waiting room for a break if you need to in order that everyone feels safe and respected. Rough handling of classroom materials will not be tolerated.
