Hello and Welcome Everyone to my Website!

My name is Karen Trick but all of my students call me Mrs. "T".  I have been teaching private piano lessons for twenty years and I have been teaching Music for Young Children for fifteen years.  It is very rewarding being able to teach children and their parents to play the piano and to love music.

I have my Grade Nine Conservatory of Music as well as my Grade Three History, Harmony and Theory.  Other instruments I play include the flute as well as many percussion instruments.  In life I complete everything to the best of my ability and in my classes I expect each child to do their own personal best!  I offer a variety of seasonal incentives to assist each child in practicing as much as possible which in return leads them to success.

I have been playing the piano for over thirty years now.  I play at church weekly both as a soloist as well as accompanying the choir and the congregation.  I have also accompanied jazz bands and performed in concerts bands.  I have participated in music festivals as a contestant both individually as well as in duets, trios and quartets.  I have also been a judge at a local music contest "The Big Break".

Aside from teaching I am a mom to two wonderful boys.  I am actively involved in my church community.  When I am not teaching you can find me at many local children's activities with my own children.  I believe it is so important to be an active member in your children's developments and learning, which is why Music for Young Children is so great as it creates an ideal time to bond with your child.
