I have been a private piano teacher in Peterborough and a primary choir director and accompanyist for over 20 years. I have been teaching the MYC program for 14 years. I love teaching young children and feel that music will enhance your child's life on so many levels. As a mother of 3 grown children, I know the demands the world has on our children and us, as parents today. Giving your child the gift of learning to play and compose their own music will set them on the path of success for their future. I completed my Grade 8 Piano and Grade 2 Theory with the Royal Conservatory of Music while I was in high school, and continued on in college in a vocal music and composition program.

REFUND POLICY:
All opened and/or used materials CANNOT be refunded.
Prepaid tuition payments are only refunded if you fully withdraw from lessons during the year. Payments made in advance will be refunded for the months AFTER the month you withdraw.
***AS WITH DANCE, HOCKEY, SWIMMING ETC., MISSED CLASSES WILL NOT BE REFUNDED OR RESCHEDULED.
STUDIO POLICIES:
*No food or drink allowed in studio except a spill-proof water bottle with WATER ONLY
*No siblings or friends allowed in the studio during group lesson time.
*Homework will be emailed home to you monthly before our lessons so you will always know what will be covered in class if you can't attend a class. You will still be expected to complete the entire weekly homework sheet and it will be checked in class the following week as usual.
*If there is ever anything on the Homework emails that you do NOT understand or forget how to do, always email or call me to discuss them so the student has time to complete the assignments before the next class. - There are NO STUPID questions!
*We come together each week to learn and most importantly to HAVE FUN! Learning from others is an important part of MYC. AGAIN, being respectful of the teacher and others in the class is my main priority during class time so that everyone has a fair advantage to learn and participate.
Inappropriate, disruptive, or disrepectful behaviour from parents or students will not be tolerated and will result in possible removal from program.
Late fees will be subject to $1/day late fines. Any late fines not paid will result in the student being removed from the program. Payment fees and schedules will be determined by the teacher at time of registration and discussed with the parent prior to registration.
Rescheduling Classes:
Your class time cannot be made up if it is missed for any reason. Your tuition covers a variety of costs for the teacher and studio including, but not limited to, teacher training and continuing education, licence fee, insurance, studio costs, lesson and materials costs, lesson planning, homework marking, recital expenses, meetings, parent-teacher communications, marketing, advertising, and much more!
An online link is provided at the beginning of the year so your child can do any lesson/class online if they cannot make it in person. If your child cannot attend a class in person or online, it will not be made up as your tuition not only covers your child's class time, but also covers all the expenses and time put into keeping the studio and programs going.
An email with this policy will be emailed to all parents wishing to register and this must be signed and dated when registering or your child will not be considered for the program.
