Surekha Meedin

Hi! I'm Surekha Meedin. It has been my pleasure to teach Music for Young Children (MYC) students for over 28 years and I am a certified Music for Young Children teacher (MYCC) as well as Royal Conservatory of Music certified teacher (RCMCT) in Maple Ridge. It is always exciting to see students develop a solid foundation of musical skills and appreciation. Music for Young Children is a proven piano method that prepares students for their life long musical journey. I have been teaching private students over 38 years. I hold a Trinity College of Music London Grade 8 with merit certificate (equivalent to Royal Conservatory of Music Grade 10 certificate). Every year the Moonbeams Three classes and private students have been prepared for the theory and practical Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) examinations which are from Grade 1 to Grade 8. As an Advanced specialist music teacher, I have been recognized by the RCM for my commitment towards the study of music for the last 19 years and recently a recipient of the Music for Young Children 700 students pin. Furthermore, my studio is affiliated with local community day care centers empowering children to learn rhythm and movement through enjoyable activities. Also, I have been voted by the community for " Best Music Studio" and "Best Youth Music lessons" in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows for 2024 and 2023. My studio is located in Maple Ridge next to Hammond Elementary School. The dedicated teaching room is equipped with 4 Pianos; Surround sound equipment with an advanced teaching tool called a MIDI player, Rhythmic instruments for each students use, and a large seating area. There is a separate waiting room area where siblings and other visitors may stay during the lesson. TV, DVD player, and couch for comfort all available in the waiting room. Located at the west end of Maple Ridge right next to the Hammond Elementary School.  There is ample parking available in the vicinity.
