Ms. Rita's Music Experience and Journey..

Rita has been teaching the Music for Young Children program for over 10 years.  In addition, she has been teaching private piano lessons and group music theory classes for over 20 years.  She has worked with children as young as 3 years old to adults.   For Rita, the many joys of being a piano/music teacher is watching her students grow musically.  As a music teacher, she believes her role is to be a positive mentor, to encourage her students to develop more confidence, independence and discipline. Rita's musical journey began when she was 7, she participated in piano exams with Royal Conservatory of Music (Piano), piano recitals, and piano competitions where she was placed.  She continued to study music in university where she earned her BA in Music from UBC.  She performed in recitals, accompanied vocalists and a tenor saxophonist,  sang in a choir, which led to an opportunity to perform at the Orpheum Theater.  Music is a big part of her life and it continues to be..            

The studio is located near E. 64th Avenue and Victoria Drive.  A 5 minutes walk from two major bus routes. Street parking is available in front of the studio and in surrounding area. The studio features: an acoustic piano, 1 full-size keyboard and 2 keyboards, a variety of rhythm instruments, music staff for visual aid and keyboard critters
