Hannah Marple

Welcome to MYC! Hannah is passionate about bringing music to life by nurturing a curiosity in students that connects with real life. In 2017, she received her Associate diploma in Piano Performance from Trinity College of London (ATCL) in Vancouver, 2019 became an RCM Elementary Piano Specialist, and became a certified Music for Young Children teacher in 2020. She continues in curiosity, pursuing another diploma in piano pedagogy with Kathleen Lohrenz Gable from UofS; is a piano adjudicator on staff at the Saskatchewan Music Festival Association (SMFA), volunteers on the Saskatoon Registered Music Teacher’s (SRMTA) board, and serves as president of the Saskatoon Contemporary Showcase (ACNMP). Besides teaching in her studios, Hannah has worked with youth at the Summer Academy for Voice and thoroughly enjoys collaborating with other artists, choirs, and instruments. Notable scholarships include the 2018 Bright Beginnings Grant from Music for Young Children. In 2019 Hannah was the recipient of the Dorothy Bee Memorial Scholarship from the Saskatchewan Music Teacher’s Association. 2020 was a challenging year but brought an opportunity to present “Making Music Relevant in the Life of a Child” at the International Conference for Music for Young Children (MYC). Past instructors and mentors have noted “[Hannah]…has a special talent for bringing out the best in others, including her students and …is competent and professional, I most admire her for her desire to learn.” Hannah believes in creating and sharing an environment for students to discover how music is relevant in every day life. Away from the studio, she often dreams of these new musical and teaching ideas while running, cycling, skiing, paddling, and vibrantly living life outside. This year holds new adventures in music with the studio - looking forward to you coming along for the ride!

The studio located in the walkout basement of our house featuring an upright Yamaha U1 piano and 6 electric pianos with enough floor space for games, rhythm ensembles and other off the bench activities.
