Hi! I'm Shelly Torossian Welcome to my website. Teaching the Music for Young Children program allows me to enjoy two of my passions - music and working with children. I've been offering piano lessons in the Farmington Hills area for 20  years and I'm as enthusiastic about it today as I was when I first began teaching. I teach both group and private lessons  for children and adults. I began to play piano at age 6 and studied through the Royal Conservatory of Music. I am a certified Music for Young Children teacher and I also have a degree in French Language and Literature from McGill University. In the Music for Young Children program children learn to play piano and create music. Each weekly 1 hour lesson is filled with fun, games, songs, rhythm ensembles and musical activities all while learning to play the piano. We also learn about composers and how to compose our own music. It is amazing how much information children can absorb and retain at such a young age. At the end of the lesson, I often hear kids asking "Is it time to go already? Can we stay a little longer?" My own 3 children went through the program and continue to play and perform today. Lessons begin in September and continue until end of May. We have a year end recital in June. Contact me for the most recent class schedule.
