Hi! I'm Norma Hoy! Looking for piano lessons for your young children in Fort St. James, B.C.? Welcome to my Music for Young Children website!  I am pleased to be offering private and group piano lessons in the Fort St. James area.     Music for Young Children group lessons are so much more than a piano lesson.   I like the goal of Music for Young Children which is, "to develop the happy habit of music".  MYC is about instilling a love of music and the discipline of music in a child's life.  MYC's mission statement is: We provide the best quality music education to young children by blending the pleasure and the joy of music making with sound instruction. It's not just about learning to play the piano- it's so much more- just learning to appreciate music, learning to interact with other people,learning the discipline of playing a musical instrument. I enjoy teaching children and rarely think of teaching piano as a job because its just fun and rewarding. I studied with various teachers over my years of piano training in Burns Lake and Kelowna. I achieved my Grade 10 piano. I also recently furthered my piano studies with Lori Elder in Prince George, majoring in pedagogy (how to teach students). Music for Young Children also requires us as teachers to keep up our professional development with area meetings and provincial meetings. I enjoy gaining new insights and being challenged at the meetings.
