Laurette Reader

Hi! My name is Laurette Reader. I teach MYC because it is a super fun way of introducing your child to music learning!  As a long-time private piano teacher, I was often frustrated while teaching beginners, but puppets, games, songs, tactile aids, and rhythm instruments make MYC classes something to look forward to every week!!  And parents can be sure that this curriculum offers a solid musical foundation for any future music studies! Going into my 16th year of teaching MYC, I am confident that your child, like so many of our program graduates (including all of my four children!), will have fun while learning essential music basics! Laurette Reader received her Associate Diploma in Piano Performance from the Western Board of Music in 1997.  She was awarded the silver medal for her grade 10 piano exam.  Laurette has a wide range of experience as an accompanist for vocal and instrumental soloists and ensembles, as well as choirs in churches, schools, and post secondary institutions.  She enjoys solo performance as well, and, for several decades, has been teaching private piano lessons.  Her students, from early years thru senior levels, regularly meet with success at the local music festival, go on to provincials, and achieve excellent results on piano exams.  Laurette has also studied singing and classical guitar.  Her home studio is located in the rural Mitchell area, where Laurette is pleased to offer MYC group lessons involving parents and children.  Please email or call to discuss this wonderful music education opportunity--music lessons for your child and you in a fun-filled, kid-friendly environment!
