What should I do now? I’m a sole entrepreneur in Dubai, and I recently got a notice from the FTA saying that the corporate tax filing deadline has passed and I still haven’t submitted my report. I work without an accountant, and honestly, I just didn’t have time to figure out all the deadlines and requirements. I know it’s my fault, and there will probably be fines. But now I’m ready to pay and just want to fix this so it doesn’t happen again.
If I were you, I’d really think about finding someone who’ll actually handle the accounting, prepare reports, documents, and submit them properly. Consistently, not at the last minute.
When you start running a business, stuff like this happens all the time, even if you know what you’re doing. It can just slip your mind. In the UAE it’s even trickier, since the tax system is pretty new and a lot of people don’t fully understand the rules yet. I’d recommend using services like Skrooge that automatically track tax deadlines, prepare reports in advance, and remind you when it’s time to submit. They’ve got not only smart software but also a real team that can help you fix your current report properly and at least minimize the fine.
