I am so excited to be a Music for Young Children teacher and share my love of music with children and their parents !
My goal is not to make child prodigies of my students, but rather to introduce them to the wonderful, world of music and instill a life-long love of music in them. I believe that if I can do this, along with their parents, we can provide the basis for a lifetime of music education and more importantly, enjoyment !
I was first impressed with the MYC program as a parent in the program almost 18 years ago when I enrolled my daughter in the program at the age of 3. Having been trained in the traditional way of private piano lessons, I was intrigued and fascinated at the the scope and level of material that was being presented to these little children...and the great part was, they were getting it !! Because I had the qualifications to teach MYC, shortly after that I took the training to become a teacher and now have been teaching for 14 years, 8 in LaSalle Ontario and now for 6 in my hometown of Strathroy, Ontario. In September 2008, I moved my studio out of my home into a commercial space , "The Music Spot" and now not only offer the MYC program,but private lessons in piano, guitar, violin, flute, clarinet, saxophone and trumpet, with the help of 3 other qualified teachers. Now, after 15 years, I have taught over 700 children and have loved every minute of it !
