I have been teaching MYC since 1985 and feel privileged to be involved in this high quality program. It is rewarding to see students build a strong, well rounded musical foundation in an enjoyable way. The benefits of early musical instruction are well documented. Many of my students have been with me for a lot of years and have definitely benefited from starting off in MYC. Seeing children and parents happily learning together is one of the best things about this job.
In January 2006 I received my ARCT piano teachers diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music. I attend many informative MYC meetings and conferences, and am a member of the Nova Scotia Registered Music Teachers Association. As well as MYC, I teach many older private students, many of whom do examinations and/or participate in the Kiwanis Music Festival.
