Genevieve Hudson B.Mus, B.Ed, Kodaly 1 & ORFF 1 certification, MYC Teacher
Your local MYC Kingston-East teacher
Hi! My name is Genevieve Hudson. I joined my friend and colleague, Jana Bolton in the Kingston-East area this past year. I am continuing to run my classes from St Mark's Anglican Church in Barriefield for the 2012-13 year while continuing my search for a more permanent and ideal location.
I taught as a general classroom teacher for the Toronto and Prince Edward County school boards as well as for a local education authority just outside of London, England. After returning to Canada, I taught music for the UCDSB in the primary and junior grades as well as at the Intermediate and High School level. My continuing education has included Special Education parts 1 and 2 as well as Intermediate vocal music qualifications.
At the same time, my desire to foster music development in the early years led me to participating in Early Childhood Music Education workshops and courses. I completed the Royal Conservatory of Music's “Music in Early Childhood” 2 week course as well as their Level I certification programs in both Kodaly and ORFF music methodologies.
I soon discovered MYC and was delighted to find I could combine my three passions; music, teaching and working with children. The MYC program is also the only child-centred music learning system that integrates keyboard, creative movement, rhythm, singing, ear training, sight reading, music theory and composition. I encourage all of you to join this program today and make it a part of your life.
