Hi! I'm Elizabeth Shearouse!
Welcome to my MYC webpages! To visit me here again, please remember my URL: www. myc.com/teacher/ eshearouse. You can also find me using the "Search for a Teacher" tool under "Teaching Locations".
My goal as a Music for Young Children teacher is to lay a solid, complete foundation for piano playing and music making for every student. I want my students to find delight in making music and to be able to incorporate it into many areas of life. In addition, I seek to establish correct piano playing habits so that students who continue in private piano lessons after MYC will be poised for success.

I endeavor to challenge each class and each student at their own pace. Some students are ready to speed ahead, while others need extra time to absorb concepts. I do my best to communicate with parents and students to ensure that they are finding the pace appropriate and to help them understand why things are done in a certain way in class.
My qualifications include:
- Grade 10 piano with RCM (first class honours)
- Elementary Piano Pedagogy with RCM (distinction)
- successfully teaching since 2004
- member of the Registered Music Teachers Association

Hi Elizabeth, as you know, you are our first ever music teacher, but you have quickly and effortlessly become the star of our family. Yesterday afternoon, I had to pretend to be you while Jana played her instruments. (Jana said ---- "You ‘tend to be Miss Lizbeth") She told anyone that would listen how to properly hold the sticks and bells and actually would like set of bells for Christmas. The boys can't stop talking about you . . . We aren’t going to have a keyboard until we move at the end of the month, so Matthew has made plans to visit our musically-motivated friends so he can have his practice time. It is so neat to watch my children really enjoy something -- since they are homeschooled, receiving instruction from someone other than me is fabulous. I would highly recommend you to any interested families if they are looking for early music instruction for their children.
Thank you for blessing my children.

Hello Elizabeth. I just wanted to say Thank You for the past three sessions of MYC. Colin and I enjoyed them very much.
Have a good trip, see you soon.
