I obtained a Laureateship in music from the music conservatory in Montreal. After getting married and moving to Toronto, I decided to pursue my studies in music and graduated in 1977 with my A.R.C.T.(teacher’s diploma) from the Royal Conservatory of Music, University of Toronto of . During the course of my career, I taught piano and theory in Scarborough where I established an excellent reputation as a piano teacher. I taught all levels and prepared my students for Royal Conservatory of Music examinations. Auditions, examinations annual recitals as well as participation in higher level competitions have always been an important part of my teaching practice. For many years, I was on the executive committee of the Scarborough Music festival the purpose of which is to provide young musicians with the opportunity to perform in a competitive environment. While in Scarborough, I received an acknowledgement from the mayor of Scarborough for my contribution to the arts in the community. I left Scarborough to embark on a life long dream of sailing with my family.
Upon my return, my musical experience was again extended when I joined the TV Ontario team as a project leader and producer where I was involved in programming for children between the ages of 5 and 9 in french. My musical background was invaluable and necessary as I was the person responsible for coordinating and overseeing the choice of songs (2 songs for each show, 9 shows to a series), working with the musicians, recruiting and training the children and guiding them through until the series were completed and ready for television showing.
Later I moved to Kelowna BC and opened my own studio where I resumed my teaching until I had to stop for a period of time while I dedicated myself to caring for a member of my family who was terminally ill.
Left Kelowna and came back to Ontario where I have been residing for the last few years. I am permanently settled in Trenton. I teach piano privately at my home studio and I continue to welcome new students. In addition, I am fully licensed to teach the MYC program. I have been teaching MYC for 5 years now. Some of my students have already graduated from the program and are now enrolled in private lessons. I am excited to give the younger children of Trenton the opportunity to be introduced to the world of music.
I am completely bilingual which I feel is an asset in Trenton where many families from the military base are French speaking. Working with children and adults both in English and French has always been for me an enjoyable challenge. Welcome to the wonderful world of music
