Hello my name is Melissa Hill.

Welcome to my piano teaching website.  I am thrilled to have somewhere for my students to go to find out more about my musical background and teaching experience.  I have enjoyed teaching piano and voice privately for the past 25 years, and I now enjoy teaching MYC classes.  Group piano is a fun and entertaining way for young children to begin their musical journey and for parents to be a part of it.  My private students are studying many different piano styles including classical ie. Royal Conservatory, Conservatory Canada, Bastien, jazz, pop, and improvisational techniques.  In the past few years I have also begun the adventure of teaching infants and toddlers through the Music Pups and Sunrise programs.  These early age programs are a lot of fun and it is amazing to start the musical development of rhythm and pitch at a very early age in children.  This past year it has been exiting to expand and grow the studio.  I have brought on Aliya Zhaksybek as a student teacher.  She is working on her Gr. 10 piano and she has achieved her level 2 MYC training.  Nanaimo is a wonderful city to raise a family and grow childrens love of music.
