Meet the Teacher

Hi! I'm Frank Berg

I really enjoy teaching the Music for Young Children program in Huntsville, Ontario. I love seeing kids grasping musical concepts in their group classes and having so much fun doing it! They come every week looking forward to seeing their friends and during the hour they end up learning music in a solid fun way!

My studio is called Muskoka Music Centre, and we offer MYC group classes, Music Pups baby and toddler classes, and private piano, singing, guitar, and drum lessons.

I moved to Huntsville with my wife in 1999, fresh out of college with a B.A. in Music, and started teaching private piano lessons. Now, years later, I am primarily teaching the Music for Young Children program, as well as teaching the Music Pups program, and private singing and piano lessons for older students.

In March 2009 I became the Cenrtral Ontario Coordinator for Music for Young Children, and now recruit and train new teachers for the MYC program. I also get to support the existing MYC teachers and drum up excitement about teaching the fabulous MYC program! http://www.myc.com/Coordinators

I direct the Muskoka Music Men, a chorus in the Barbershop Harmony Society.

My wife Heather and I have 3 daughters, Meeda (7), Sylvie (5) and Isabel (2). Meeda will be graduating from Moonbeams 3 class this June, and taking her Grade 1 practical exam with Conservatory Canada. Sylvie is taking Sunshine 2 this year. They love to come home and do their MYCs with one of us! The practicing that they get to do includes coloring, crafts, singing, clapping, ear training and keyboard technique. Isabel loves coming to Music Pups class each week!
