This is all found together in teaching children!

Music has been an important part of my life! At the age of 5 years old, I began taking music lessons and continued until I achieved my Grade X music diploma with Western Board of Music (which now known as Canada Conservatory)
As a teenager I was very involved in church choirs as pianist and director and led many musicals. I later on became the Children’s Ministry Director at our church which has given me much experience working with and understanding all types of children.
I have taught private lessons for over 25 years and once I discovered Music For Young Children about 9 years ago, I knew that this would be a great addition and a perfect fit to give children the best music education.
My goal is to inspire children’s musical interest and work with them to build solid musical foundations. I want children to learn to love music and want to help them grow fond memories of their music classes. I want their experiences to be fun and yet rewarding. I give children exciting, quality keyboard and musical training.
I am married to a wonderful and supportive husband for almost 27 years and have been blessed with two children. A daughter who will be going into her forth year of university and a son who is 19 and attending college.
It would be my absolute pleasure and honor to share the gift of music with your child.

One of the reasons Music For Young children is so successful is because parents are involved in every class and learn right along with their children. We teach the children in classes with 5 - 6 other students. Why do we offer classes?
- Group dynamic ( 6 children maximum) enhances learning
- More fun to learn with others
- Concepts can be taught visually and creatively
- 60 minute lessons instead of 30 minutes

TESTIMONIALS
A testimonial from a Mom........
What an amazing experience our first year with MYC and Miss Caroline has been. We joined Miss Caroline’s MYC Sunbeams I class in September 2010. My child was 5 ½ years old and he had no previous musical instruction. Throughout the year, he enjoyed the many age appropriate and engaging activities included in the MYC curriculum. By the end of the year, he could read and play music, play scales, and harmonize. Miss Caroline finished the year with a “no pressure” recital. She explained that the recital was simply an opportunity to show family and friends a snapshot of what the children learned this year. I appreciate that this entire musical year was positive and fun. I know that Miss Caroline’s approach and attitude will influence how my child feels about music for the rest of his life.Miss Caroline’s studio, although student-friendly, is very professional. The room is well organized, neat, bright, and clean. It has good quality instruments for the children to play and ample space for the children to learn. My child learned far more this year and had more fun than I could ever have anticipated. We are looking forward to our next year with Miss Caroline. I can hardly wait to see how much we have both learned in a year from now. |

From a Dad of a 5 year old daughter.....
My 5 year old daughter started the MYC Sunbeams 1 program with Caroline Lenk in the fall of 2010. This was our first experience with any sort of formal music training. We had a wonderful year together in Miss Caroline’s class and I was amazed at my daughters progress throughout the year. The program introduces key music concepts to children in a way that is fun in which THEY can relate to and learn effectively. Miss Caroline is fabulous in her approach with the kids and the overall pace of classes. Her music room/teaching area is very well set up in that it is clean, organized and has lots of quality pianos that the students can play.
I was amazed at the progress made throughout the year. By year end, my daughter was reading music, playing with both hands, and in general had a solid foundation to key musical concepts. Miss Caroline organized a fun recital at the end of the year that was a great success. Each child in the class played a song of their choice in front of family and friends. It was fun for the kids and from a parents perspective it was hard to believe the progress that had been made from the beginning to the end of the year.
My daughter genuinely enjoys sitting and playing on her own time, a tribute to Miss Caroline….
