Special Training is Required for MYC Teachers
Training is required to provide the new MYC teacher with hands-on techniques and ideas for planning and delivering successful lessons. The child-friendly materials alone, cannot relate the excitement and appropriateness of the developmental nature of activities applied to each age level in the MYC program.
Before starting to teach the MYC program, teachers take a level 1 seminar which is four or five days long. After having taught MYC for a year, teachers take a level 2 seminar which lasts three days. Finally, teachers take a two day level 3 seminar after having taught level 2 for a year.
Where is Training Available?
Seminars are scheduled in various locations. The seminars are conducted in successful studios where possible so as to provide the new teacher with a "real-life" teaching perspective and feel.
What is the cost for a new teacher?
A new teacher must provide transportation, lodging and meals while attending the seminar. The cost for a Level 1 seminar is $300 CDN for the training fee and $500 for the materials ($300/$350 US).
Seminars are being held throught North America, see below for the dates. Call 1-800-561-1692 for a seminar near you or email seminars@myc.com. Seminars are subject to availability.
