Music for Young Children (MYC)
Designed for parents who want to introduce piano to their young children, MYC provides a comprehensive music program that integrates keyboard, singing, ear training, sight reading, creative movement, rhythm, music theory and music composition. Children between the ages of 3 & 11 and their parents benefit by acquiring solid music education in a fun group-based environment that enhances parent/child involvement . Unlike independent teachers or other international programs, the MYC program combines early childhood education principles with music theory within a rigorous curriculum that is recognized by the Chief Examiner Emeritus of the Royal Conservatory of Music as a superior introduction to music. More than 29 years education and curriculum development experience and a stringent teacher accreditation process protects the program’s reputation for superior parent satisfaction.

Why Become an MYC Teacher?
When you become an MYC Teacher, you'll help parents understand how important music education is for children (securing and preserving your future as an independent music educator). You will help create classes for pre-school and elementary-aged children so these children can receive quality music education from an early age.
Music lessons, taught in small groups, provide significant boosts in IQ and provide added fun and education, where children can learn from each other.
MYC provides phone support through the coordinator and a newsletter to share teacher ideas, program successes and news. The coordinator also visits teacher's classes at least once a year at which time the classes are observed and constructive suggestions and support are offered.
Because the class-size is small, you do not need much room - a family room size is usually sufficient. Or, you can easily rent out space in a recreation center, church, school or other facility on a per class basis.
You will enjoy added income from multiple students in the same hour, plus, you can take advantage of empty early morning and early afternoon hours to hold preschool classes.

I went looking for the BEST and I found it!!
After teaching private lessons for 23 years, I was beoming increasingly more frustrated with my lessons. I knew that I could do better for my students, I just didn`t know what that "BETTER" was! I decided to search online for some games or suggestions that could make my lesson more fun. MYCs website popped up on my computer screen, and the first thing I read was the endorsement form Barbara Coloroso. I didn`t need to read any more!! I was immedialtely convinced!!
The result of that decision has been the best move I have ever made! I love my classes. The MYC curriculium is well thought out and flows from concept to concept to connect in a way that really makes sense. I love watching the faces of my students as they play a piece they have learned by themselves or as they grasp a new concept when they play a game in class. I also appreciate the feeling of being a part of something – I am not alone in my career as a piano teacher any more. My job satisfaction has soared ... not only did I find the BEST for my students, but I found the BEST for myself too!!
