“The philosophy of the MUSIC FOR YOUNG CHILDREN™ program is to help children develop the happy habit of learning music. MUSIC FOR YOUNG CHILDREN™ provides the necessary structure for learning to take place while allowing children the freedom to think. Children are empowered to set goals in their music while experiencing a playful, positive environment.”

The following studio guidelines are designed to ensure that each student, together with his/her participating partner, will benefit fully from weekly MYC™ classes.
1. Classes will commence at the scheduled time. Arriving a few minutes early helps to
create a more relaxed atmosphere. This also allows for a homework check and the parent an
opportunity to record the weekly homework assignment.
Arriving late is a distraction – particularly to our younger students
2. It is MYC™ policy that only registered students and their participating partners attend the
class. (An occasional allowance may be acceptable upon pre-approval)
3. Class attendance:
a) Upon registration, a place has been reserved for your child for the FULL year
consisting of 34-36 weeks, including a year end recital.
b) Please advise me in advance if you and your child are unable to attend class.
c) There will be no refund for missed lessons. Parents are responsible for making
arrangements to receive the missed homework assignment.
d) The first 8 weeks of lesson fees are non-refundable. Beyond that point 4 weeks notice
of intention to withdraw from the MYC™ program is required. All lessons after February 1 are non-refundable.
4. Lesson payment will be submitted at the beginning of the lesson year in the manner of 9
monthly (September through May) post dated cheques. Please note that the applicant may also choose to pay the yearly tuition in full in September.
Tuition Fees: $65.00 per month for the first child ($585.00 paid in full)
$61.00 per month for the second child ($549.00 paid in full)
$57.00 per month for the third child ($513.00 paid in full)
5. Registration for level II and III students that is submitted after May 1st will have $20.00 added to their registration fee, as specified by Music For Young Children™. Registration/Materials fee must be submitted in full by May 1st OR in 2 equal cheque payments made for May 1 and July 1.
6. If you refer a friend to who registers by July 30th and attends the first class in September, you will receive the last month of your lessons for FREE!
7. All Monday lessons that fall on a holiday will be rescheduled to the Wednesday of the same week.
Communication between student, teacher and parent is vital to a positive learning experience. At home practice will also help your child remain actively involved. Please contact me (519.662.4588) at any time to discuss your child’s progress, or any questions or concerns that may arise.
I am looking forward to a new teaching year of “making music” with you and your child.
Yours Musically,
Sara Roth
