Attendance:

Classes begin in September and continue to approximately the end of May. Classes approximate the school calendar and are not held during Christmas break and Spring break. holidays.

  • Regular attendance is encouraged.  If you are absent from class, I can email you the weekly assignment, or you can make other arrangements to obtain it from me or someone else in the class. There will be no refund for missed classes.
  • If you know in advance that you will be missing a class, please let me know so that I can plan for it.
  • Students are considered to be enrolled for the full year. If it becomes necessary to leave the class before the end of May, one month's written notice is required.

Establishing Good Habits:

  • Parental involvement is essential for the success of this program, both in class and at home. Even if you do not have a musical background, your attentive presence in class qualifies you to assist and provide support during home practice. Encourage good practice habits from the very first lesson. Daily practice is encouraged in order for one's fullest musical potential to be realized. Practice incentive awards are given for five practices a week.
  • Please be on time for class. Additional time cannot be added if students are late.
  • So that your child in class will benefit from your full attention, please do not bring siblings to class.
  • It is recommended that the parent or caregiver who usually attends class with the child be the same person who will follow through with home practice.
