My Music for Young Children classes provide a child friendly environment with a proven method of introducing children to music in a fun, stimulating manner. In every class the parent is actively involved with their child which helps the child be successful every day. Classes are taught in small groups of up to six children with the parents attending each class. We participate annually in a Rhythm Ensemble Day, submit compositions to the International Composition Festival, and have a lovely Year End Recital. Children also have the opportunity to perform at other venues throughout the year.
With almost 20 years experience teaching Music for Young Children and 25 years teaching privately, each class is well balanced with learning activities that include ensemble time at the keyboards, singing, playing rhythm ensembles, and solo times. As a graduate of Carleton University (B.Mus) and holding a diploma in piano pedagogy (A.Mus.) I am also an Examiner (piano) for Conservatory Canada as well as the Eastern USA Coordinator for Music for Young Children. These positions have given me the opportunity to enrich my Music for Young Children classes as I travel throughout North America working with other Music for Young Children teachers and viewing other classes.
