Meet the Teacher

Welcome to my Music for Young Children website!

Hi! My name is Leora Cashe.
I am thrilled to be teaching this amazing program that's brilliantly designed to give each child an opportunity to connect to their musical mind and voice!

It's a real honour exploring the joy of music with children. Every day I am reminded how intrinsic our connection to music is.  I believe music is immensely important in developing our intellect, emotions, self-discipline, self-motivation and the forging of values. Together we learn and teach one another the art of working in a musical community and in so doing connect with our greater good. My goal is to empower each child to courageously share their musical ideas and songs, experience the joy of music making and joyously play the piano every day.

MYC is the only child centered learning system that integrates keyboard, creative movement, rhythm, singing, ear training, sight reading, music theory, and composition!

As a child I remember feeling the isolation of practicing the piano alone but with MYC the child parent bond is profoundly nurtured while learning to play the piano together.
I feel that MYC is the perfect door to open into the wonderful of music making.  The possibilities are endless and the rewards are for a life-time. "Long after the toys of childhood are gone, the gift of music remains." - Wendy Knapp (MYC Teacher/Coordinator).

I invite you to join me and Music for Young Children at our lovely Showcase Academy in Aberdeen Centre, Richmond, BC (604-270-8861)  Check out our Schedule and Registration Info.

I look forward to our musical journey together...
let the adventure begin!
