Attendance
Parent involvement is a very important part of the MYC program. If you are unable to attend with your child, please arrange for another adult to participate with your child.
Please keep in mind a space in class has been reserved for your child for the entire school year. Other students may have been put on a waiting list due to limited space. Regular attendance is a must.
Lessons start and end on time. The class is 50 minutes followed by 5 minutes for any questions while students are packing up.
If your child is sick, homework and assignments will be made available. MISSED LESSONS WILL NOT BE REFUNDED!!
Homework and Practice
Your child will need a piano or touch sensitive keyboard with at least 61 full sized keys.
Practice is essential to successful piano learning.
Each lesson is followed by specific weekly assignments to be completed at home. In order to ensure your child is prepared and successful, they should practice 5 days a week. There are regular practice incentives in class.
Studio Courtesy and Communication
Please remember to bring your music materials and bag to every class. No food or drinks are allowed at class. Younger siblings are not permitted in class due to the need for concentration for all students.
Parents please read the 'My Child', parent book, in order to assist your child in obtaining the best out of the program. Parents are truly the key to the child's success in MYC. If your child is having difficulty in any area please let me know so we can work together and help them be successful. Not only do I want your child to learn music but more importantly I want them to develop a love for music. I welcome suggestions and comments. I am excited to meet and work with you and your child.
