I believe that all children should have the opportunity to experience how fun music can be. Music for Young Children offers a wonderful learning environment to expose young children to the exciting world of music. I believe that music is not just an activity to enroll your child in -- it is an education.
I have obtained a Grade 9 certificate in piano and a Grade 3 certificate in History and Harmony from the Royal Conservatory of Canada. I am a member of the Fredericton Music Teachers' Association and am a certified instructor for Music for Young Children. I attend semi-annual provincial MYC meetings and a bi-annual international MYC conference to keep up-to-date with curriculum changes.
I have taught private piano lessons for 13 years and began offering the Music for Young Children program in 2004. I am a supply organist for my church and also assist in the music for the Sunday School program. As well, I accompany a church children's choir.
I enjoy teaching young children and I currently home school my three daughters. My oldest daughter graduated from the MYC program and continues to study piano as well as guitar. My two younger daughters are currently enrolled in MYC. I have also been studying the guitar and my husband is studying the drums. Music is a very large part of our family life. |
