Music for Young Children is an affordable, interactive way to develop your child's love of music
Registration and Materials Fee:
For the keyboarding classes, Sunshine, Sunbeams, and Moonbeams, the following fees apply:
The registration fee, two months tuition and eight post-dated cheques for the remainder of the tuition are due at the time of registration.
-The registration fee comes to a total of approximately $175.00 which includes the cost of all books and materials is due at the time of application.
-Two months' tuition comes to $144.00 and represents the September and June fees for
music lessons.. Tuition is $72.00 per month.
-The eight post-dated cheques towards the remainder of the year's lesson fees are to be made out to "Catherine Steele" for the amount of $72.00 each and are to be dated October 1st through May 1st. (If this were compared to a private lesson fee schedule it would work out to $20.00 per lesson.)
Please Note: Music for Young Children is a year-long program with 34 lessons and two concerts. The lessons start in September and continue until June. There is no refund for missed classes as you are paying for a program rather than individual lessons.
Of Interest: The cost of Music for Young Children piano lessons is the same throughout the city of Vancouver. Children that come to learn piano at my studio come from the following neighbourhoods: Downtown, Yaletown, the West End, Coal Harbour, Kitsilano, Chinatown and Commercial Drive. If students move to another area of Vancouver, they can transfer to another piano class with an MYC piano teacher without any change in tuition fees.
Class Levels:
I offer the following three keyboard-based classes:
-Sunshine classes for 4 year old children.
-Sunbeam classes for children between the ages of 5 and 7.
-Moonbeam classes for children between the ages of 7 and 8.
-I offer classes for beginner teens and adults as well based on interest. Please contact me for the schedule.
Children start each of these classes as beginners and move up through the levels and ages until they are ready to take their Grade One Conservatory Canada or Royal Conservatory exam.
Please Note:
Some teachers also offer Music Pups classes and Sunrise classes for younger children. These classes do not offer keyboard skills. I would be happy to recommend a teacher if you would like information on these classes.
