Parents
Parents play an important role in the MYC program. They help at home with the practice and homework, help in class to handle supplies and to keep children on task. As your child is learning how to play the piano, parents can learn right along at the same time.
Practicing
A happy habit of practicing five days per week is required. Practice need only to be 5 to 15 minutes of playing piano, singing, clapping, listening or coloring. When practicing at home with the child, positive re-enforcement from parents will help build confidence and motivate the child.
Rectials
Two recitals are held every year. Every student will have the opportunity to perform keyboard solos and group ensembles with rhythm instruments. The recitals celebrate children’s accomplishments that they have achieved throughout the year.
